Why choose FireFox?
« on: March 14, 2007, 08:27:39 PM »
By now every one here should know what FireFox is. If you don't it is a lite weight fast and easy to customize web browser. It was created off the Mozilla web browser but intended to be a lot more lite weight. They striped out all the internal BS that slows Mozilla down.

If you are not using FireFox i highly recommed downloading it and giving a shot. I started using it over 5 years ago when it wasn't called FireFox. Since the first time i tried it i have never turned back.

With plug-ins for just about every thing you can think of and an every growing database of themes FireFox is the only browser you will ever want or need.

This thread is not just intended to be a plug for FireFox I would also like to know what plug-ins you guys are using. What they are for! How do you like them!

(mac user)  "what's a mozilla?"

then realizes it's a pc thing and nods head...I agree, I like FireFox for some things, but others work better on Safari...and yet, others still unfortunately work on IE (blech)...so I have all 3 on my laptop.

Firefox all the way!!  The only reason for opening anything else is to check for cross-browser compatibility.  Although, of course, EVERYONE should be using Firefox anyways  ::)

Here is a small list of the extensions I think every one who is interested in web dev should have.

1 - Web Developer - This is a must if you are into web dev or skinning!
2- XML Developer Toolbar
3 - IE Tab
4 - OperaView
5 - FireFTP
6 - Codetech

Tolop, since I switched to firefox I've never gone back.. I think if you gave FF some time you will find it is twice as efficient as IE.

I upgraded to IE7 and ran into all sorts of bugs.  I downloaded FF and haven't looked back.  I love all the add-ons (especially one-click weather).  I only use IE to check layouts with to make sure they are cross-browser friendly.
