Oh great... another tutorial junkie... maybe we need a tutorial support group?

(Translation: Looks great! I like the way you used the pixel stretch as well.)

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

You might want to notify your husband about your new "status"!  ::)

Thanks for the comments.  Glad you like it!

Also, if your text is coming out with jagged edges, this is the result of the limitations of gif transparency.  A way around this is to type your text directly on your background versus a new layer.  Then just save it as before.  It will look much better this way.

I'd rate you as an upper-middle-lower-mod with pro-novice-inter tendencies.....and a twist of lime!  Of course, my rating scale is completely objectively subjective, but ALWAYS consistently inconsistent.

Ah... well, now you tell me!  I only just re-did it 3 times trying to get that text smoothed out...
I'll do it again...

Sorry about that!  I automatically assume everyone has the gimp knowledge I do....then, I remember that I'm generally dealing with mere mortals!  ::)  *I had Mexican food for dinner last night so the hot air isn't from an overly inflated ego, but.....*  :P

Tutorial has been modified.  Hit the refresh button just in case the page is stored in memory.  Would somebody do me a favor and test this out and see if my steps now work for you?  Just want to make sure it's clear.  Thanks, Art

The first snag Damascus has with the new version is file size. the same signature is now 3 megs.

What about optimizing?  Or maybe convert it back to RGB and go to the Image Menu > Mode > Indexed and reduce the number of colors manually.  That might be better than optimizing.   The only other thing I can suggest is to use a larger brush size to speed up the "writing", but that may not be what you're after.

Well, worked fine... but then had to optimize it.
Not sure if it's any better than my sig or not...

Nope... guess not.
