Letter brush
« on: April 07, 2007, 03:49:34 PM »
This was kind of inspired by fencepost's Matrix tute (which I haven't actually done yet...I just got to thinking, how could you do a matrix effect with only Gimp filters?).

Anyway, this uses Courier 10 Pitch Bold typeface (came with my Xubuntu distro), in a .gih format (like the pencil sketch or sparkly brushes, it changes as you brush).  If you set fade out, it gets kinda interesting

Actual brush size is small, only 18 W x 23 H.

Edit:  I experimented and made a quickie "matrix" image using the brush.

If I knew how to make the .GIH I could make one with the matrix code font...

Nice work, CO!

@Darth:  I thought I posted my Brush Making series of tutorials on here, but I guess it's one I forgot about.  Here's the link to them at gimptalk.com http://www.gimptalk.com/forum/topic/Let's-Create-Some-Brushes!-457-1.html  It's a 3-part tutorial, but I believe the second part is the one where I discuss animated (gih) brushes, (which is actually my second post in that topic).  In short, they're just like creating an animated gif, but you have to specify some options...which I discuss.

I'll copy those tutorials here tomorrow.
I'd rate you as an upper-middle-lower-mod with pro-novice-inter tendencies.....and a twist of lime!  Of course, my rating scale is completely objectively subjective, but ALWAYS consistently inconsistent.
