gimp and eye candy question

i have recently bought a new computer with windows vista and still use gimp. i am wondering how to install alien eye candy on gimp like u can on paint shop pro??? if you can tell me how to install it that would be great. thanks!! :)

i'd hate to see you spend a bunch of money on something that may or may not work but you can install many ps plugins and have them work in gimp.  this is a link that explains how to do that.   The first entry is the one to read. http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/04/03/8-handy-tweaks-to-make-gimp-replace-photoshop/

ok not sure if im doing this right but should i make a folder for alien eye candy?

i think you want to make a folder called photoshop plugins and put all the plugins there.  there tell gimp where to find them as explained.

if you do a search on "eye candy in gimp" you will find more discussions about doing this.  i'm not convinced that this will work at all.

I'd rate you as an upper-middle-lower-mod with pro-novice-inter tendencies.....and a twist of lime!  Of course, my rating scale is completely objectively subjective, but ALWAYS consistently inconsistent.
