Did you vote?

Can you vote? Are you a Canadian with an opinion about the US elections? (Darth, Dam)

I did, for the first time in my life.

Personally.. I think Obama would destroy the US and take Canada with it in the long run.

I don't know... we just had our own federal election that was really hush hush.  It's really quite different here than from the US.  I find it difficult because you just can't get a drift on the Canadian Politicians, whereas the States seems to have alot more hoopla about it.

As for who'd I'd vote for if I were a US citizen.... ? Mmmm. Strictly based on my own personal values, I'd be swinging my leg over to the McCain side... mind you - it's just a leg.

ATM, as it has been all along (it seems), Obama appears to be leading.

when you think about it, it's really amazing how we in the usa can make huge changes in the people we elect in one day.

it looks like obama will win  but in four years we get to do it all over again. personally, i think we will see the carter years revisited with prim interest rates in the 20s and mounting unemployment. but that's the plan.....make people dependent.

so four years from now we will have to correct it and remember why we like republican presidents.

history is made. i wish he could have been a conservative.

but i was thinking. most of the world doesn't have very nice things to say about the usa when it comes to slavery and race relations. yet i can't think of a single country that didn't practice slavery and many did so for a lot longer. i also can't think of a single anglo country that has had a black president. england? france? germany? ireland? spain? mexico? canada? i could be wrong. i haven't dug into that very hard.

To my knowledge, Canada has never had a black Prime Minister.

Either way... big job ahead no matter who had won.  I think anyone would have to have a lot of guts to come in after Bush.

I never actually took notice of your gamertag avatar.

Yeah, I'd prefer if I didn't say who I voted for; most of the votes on my ticket were actually libertarian candidates, but those were positions on the state level. Honestly, I have a very pessimistic view of the future of our economy, but I never really trusted either of the two major candidates to turn things around. I saw maybe something good with Ron Paul, but I don't believe in throwing away a vote. I'm just glad I managed to form my decision based on my own core beliefs.

Excellent point and route to follow.
