Been MIA
« on: April 03, 2009, 06:37:18 PM »
sorry I haven't been around.  been dealing with some harsh back pains so Ive been laid up a bit  .  I guess its what I deserve after four back surgeries, heheh.  oh well, right?  but I should be good to go as long as I can keep the pain and spasms under-control.

i have the same problem too in gimp 2.6--it never happened in 2.4

anyway, the way i get around it is to open the c4d's as a separate image and resize them using the 'Scale Image' option and then paste the resized c4d into the sig.  i'm sure there's an easier way, but i haven't found it

we all see what we want to see

The resize has actually always been an issue... one work around is to apply the unsharp mask after you have resized.

Thats the way I was doing it void, but whenever I would scale down it would look awful.  I mean the c4d would literally look terrible.  fuzzy with pixel'd edges.

Ill try with the unsharp mask.  I should do the unsharp mask before taking the resized c4d to my signature, correct?

I uaually just work on the sig... no need for multiple open files. Also, when you scale it.. use the Layer > Scale Layer option, and use the percent mode. Scale it, if its too big, undo... then scale again. You should be able to find something and scale it just once this way.
