Now that the codeing side of the worm's main page is 90% complete i figured i better start skinning the thing.
If the skin works out well i may translate it to SMF for use at the dome.

C&C always welcome as long as it stays constructive. All non-constructive C&C will be removed.

sweet design :D seems like you're taking the dome in a different direction
(bad pun intended on all the arrow swirlies :D)
although they also compete with the checkerboard pattern...
it almost doesn't work now
maybe try using just the solid dark blue color for bg?

looking forward to seeing the finished skin!

I like it a lot, Droz. Really fits the worm.

A question about the worm, too. Are you/we going to go back through and add smaller images where some of the frames don't blend? It looks like they did that on the Bluesfear worm and I think it might be a good idea.

1_into: Yep
We have been talking about doing some worm maintenance. If you couldn't tell we have done some minor touch ups already.
I know between Panel 3 and 4 there need to be a small panel created to blend it and between 6 and 7 a minor one needs created for blending.

TDE: A solid color does work well but not a dark one. I tried using the dark blue and the rest of the skin did not pop out as much.

The orginal checker pattern was from a blank canvas in gimp. The idea was to create a space that looked like a Work in progress. Like when you create a new image with a transparent background in Gimp. The problem i ran into was using darker colors for the header and other areas did not look right with the dark checker board. I tried using brighter colors to bring it out more and eww bad idea...

So this is what i got. A simple white back ground works nice to just thought i would break it up with the checkers.

I have a few other concepts to test out and see if they may work better.

I have to admit the contents in the top bar seem a bit out of place. I guess the yellow just needs to be a little more integrated into the color scheme, but I'm not sure quite how. I'm digging the style though, and I can't wait to see it refined. Excellent work.
