This looks like a good place to introduce myself with out creating a topic for that.
I didnt search but looked for a new memebrs thread.

I'll help stir up some convo I suppose.

New here.
I had the link given to me almost a whole year ago and just now checked the place out.
This site is very well done and organized.

I've been using GIMP for a couple years. Started with an interest to make sigs and userbars.
I've had people try to press me into PS but...idk. Gimp is so easy to use. Maybe just because it's what I'm used to.
Really, Im not all that good with it and still pretty newb if one were to ask me. I do have a lot of the "basics" down I think yet there is so much more advanced stuff to learn. I'm always looking to improve, learn, etc, and I have to say, this place is full of resources and talent.
I shall lurk around a bit but just wanted to say hi and good job.

Scripting
« Reply #14 on: September 21, 2010, 08:27:59 PM »
Hey guys, I know this is not really the place to post this, but I cannot seem to find any active forum.  I am looking for some help on writing scripts.  I read the tutorials here by Fencepost posted back in 08 but it doesn't go into the detail I need.  I have tried reverse engineering some scripts, with slight success, but I'm still missing some basics somewhere.  Any script writers care to share any advice?  What I am looking for is the language, lists of commands, explanations as to the commands, etc.  The tutorials are good, but I want something more substantial.

Any takers?

As for me, I have about 7 or 8 years working with GIMP. I've migrated from Windows to Linux Mint 9 -- with no looking back! -- and now, with all the command line use I have gotten since the change, I  would like to write a couple scripts based on some techniques I use.
