Warp of Endless Flame

Go newbielink:http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/34483364/ [nonactive] (zoom in to see) or read below (I figured it would be nice to type it up for you so I don't have to have you go searching too far just to read a smudged image; besides, this can easily be edited).

1.) Do steps 1, 2, and 4 (also look at step 3 to make sure you have your settings right) on this tutorial.

2.) Duplicate your layer. Do Filters > Enhance > Unsharp Mask on the top one with the Amount slider all the way to the right in the settings. Set the top layer mode to Difference. Go to Layer > Colors > Invert. Merge down.

3.) Filters > Map > Displace, and displace the layer on itself. Gaussian blur 1.

4.) Filters > Map > Warp, Layer > Colors > Invert (only if it's a dark image). Select Incandescent as your gradient and go to and Filters > Colors > Map > Gradient Map.

i'm not quite sure what i did wrong
but mine looks a whole lot different than yours

it seems more like lava than flames :P

on your displace you probally has it to high in settings..
and you might of forgot to do filters/map/warp

well i did the warp
maybe it was the displace
i'll try this again :D
i think that i can get a really nice effect with this tut
i hate to double post,
but it's not letting me edit
